STAFF

Owners: Georgia and Ryan Everett
Office Manager/Dispatcher: Amanda Kittrell
Field Techs: Ryan Everett, Georgia Everett, Clayton Pell
Tech Helper: Brandon Collins
Realizing a need for a local electrician for the Madison area, Ryan Everett started Everett Electric in 2009. Since then, his wife Georgia Everett (a master electrician) joined him, and they were able to hire an additional electrician (also a master license holder) Clayton Pell, and his son Matthew Pell, as a helper. Amanda Kittrell has been with the company since March 2018 as the office manager and dispatcher.
FEMALE/MINORITY OWNED AND OPERATED
Georgia Everett is the majority owner of the business, in addition to being a master electrician herself. We enjoy the option of being able to send a female electrician into the field, and from the feedback we've received, it is mutually enjoyed and appreciated by our customers!

LICENSED, BONDED, AND INSURED - AND WE CAN PROVE IT
You've probably seen this phrase on vans, commercials, and anywhere else a contractor is to be found - but what does it mean?

-LICENSED: we took the classes, we learned the material, we put in the field hours, and then we took the test. Our master licensing means we are licensed to perform electrical work and pull electrical permits within the cities where we hold licenses as mandated by their community and development or building and permits departments.

-BONDED: The electrical contractor surety bond guarantees that licensed and bonded electrical contractors will comply with state requirements and provisions for contractors. It protects the public and the state from contractors who act dishonestly, or are otherwise in violation of their requirements. Most jurisdictions where we have our licensing require city and county bonding, which we have no problem providing.

-INSURED: We carry general liability and worker's comp insurance. We can add any customer or vendor as a certificate holder and supply a copy. These additional safety nets help assure our customers that they will be covered in the event of damage at our fault.
SERVICES WE PROVIDE
Think you might need an electrician? The following is a list of services we provide:
  • RESIDENTIAL WORK: The majority of our service calls are for residential projects, and since we have been in business for almost 10 years, we have become well-versed in diagnosing residential issues to get you repaired quickly.
  • COMMERCIAL WORK: We can provide electrical work for your business just as easily as we can for your home. We can run circuits for outlets for new equipment, convert current fluorescent light fixtures into LED fixtures, and run power for cubicle banks.
  • CEILING FAN REPLACEMENT/REPAIR/INSTALLS: We can replace existing ceiling fans and light fixtures with customer-supplied ceiling fans, we can repair your current ceiling fan (spins too fast, chain pulled out, light kit doesn't work), and we can run wire and install a new ceiling fan in an area with no current electricity run to that area. Tall ceilings? No problem.
  • LIGHT FIXTURE INSTALLATION AND REPLACEMENT: We can replace existing light fixtures and ceiling fans with customer-supplied light fixtures, including chandeliers, as well as run wire for new light fixtures where there is no current electricity run to that area. We can also install, repair, and replace all exterior lighting, which includes spotlights, motion lights, tree lights, landscape lights, and ground up-lights (lights that shine into trees from the ground). Tall ceilings? No problem.
  • OUTLETS, SWITCHES, AND GFIs: We can replace any existing outlet or switch, and run wire and install new outlets and switches, including GFIs. We can also convert existing outlets to GFI-protected outlets as required by building code.
  • WALL TVs: We can install/run power for wall TVs, in addition to extending the cabling/coax for it, mounting it, and hiding the wires for existing wall TVs.
  • HOME INSPECTION REPORT REPAIRS: Selling your home but have a daunting list of recommendations from your home inspector? From double lugged neutrals to bulb replacement, we've pretty much seen it all. Email a copy of the list to us, and we can often provide a free estimate based on the wording and images included. If we do find something in the report that requires an on-site visit, we will call to schedule an appointment.
  • TROUBLESHOOTING AND DIAGNOSTIC: Flickering lights. Sparking outlets. Loose switches. GFI that won't reset. We can repair your problem quickly and affordably.
  • ATTIC FAN REPLACEMENT AND REPAIR: We can replace the entire fan, in addition to the parts that comprise it, like motors and thermostats.
  • BULB CHANGE OUTS: Sure, this may seem like an easy repair, but what if the bulb breaks off in the fixture? How about bulbs in the ceiling of your warehouse? Does the thought of one of your senior family members on a ladder give you anxiety? Same for us, and this is a service we are happy to provide for the safety of our customers.
  • POWER RECONNECTION AND PERMITS: If you have a rental or are moving into a home where the electrical utility/power/lights have been off for more than 6 months, the city requires an inspection of the electrical system and a permit to be pulled. We will send a tech out to inspect the current electrical system, and offer an estimate for any repairs needed to be brought up to current building code. Once the repairs are made, we pull a permit with the city, and they send their own inspector out to check the electrical system. Once it passes their inspection, they then send a reconnection notice to Entergy or your local electrical utility company, who then in turn send out someone to connect the home to the main electrical utility line. This is also the same process that occurs if you need your meterbase replaced.
  • METERBASE/POWERBASE REPLACEMENT: Meterbases and powerbases are the main point of entry for electricity into your home from the utility line. Sometimes they need to be replaced due to mechanical failure or age, and sometimes they need to be upgraded to provide for a higher electrical draw from devices in the home (think electric tank-less water heaters). For whatever reason your meter needs to be replaced, we can handle the job from permitting to replacement.
  • INTERIOR PANEL CHANGE OUT AND LABELING: For the same reasons that your meterbase might need to be changed, sometimes interior panels need to be changed as well. We can replace interior and exterior panels, in addition to labeling them for easy reference about which breakers control what areas throughout your home.
  • RUNNING POWER TO A SECONDARY LOCATION: We can trench and run power from your home to a secondary location, such as a shed, swimming pool power panel, boat dock, or RV charging station.
  • ELECTRIC CAR CHARGING: The future is here, folks! With the increase in popularity of electric cars, we can install an electric car charging station within your home to make sure your car is always powered up. We have installed charging stations for Tesla and other electric vehicles.
  • FLUORESCENT TO LED LIGHT CONVERSION: Fluorescent lights are slowly being phased out by LED lights due to their impact on the environment. But never fear; LED lights often provide better lighting for a fraction of the power usage. We can also rewire most existing fluorescent light fixtures to be able to accommodate LED fixtures so there is no need to replace the entire fixture.
  • SOMETHING ELSE: Don't see your project above? Call us to discuss – we love to help!

SERVICES WE DO NOT PROVIDE
While we do try and help as many people as we can, there are just some services we do not do. Examples are as follows:

  • APPLIANCE REPAIR: We can check the power going to an appliance to make sure it is SUPPOSED to be working, but as for the appliance itself, we can refer you out to a few companies that can help.
  • ELECTRICAL UTILITY: We are not an electrical utility company, only an electrical contracting company. If you are new to the area, please check with either Entergy or your local City Hall to find out who is your electrical utility provider. If power for your location has been off longer than 6 months, you will have to have a permit pulled, and we CAN help with that.
  • INDUSTRIAL WORK:  No 3-phase or major industrial work.
